How to Share Coloring Time Between Two Siblings

Two children can share a coloring session without having to share every material or make matching pictures.

Prepare the activity

Give each child their own page and a small set of crayons. Put duplicate favorites, such as blue and green, in both sets if you have them. A central cup can hold less frequently used colors.

Try it together

Agree on a simple request: ask before taking a crayon from another child's space. If one color is in demand, place it between the two work areas and take turns using it for one small part.

Keep it flexible

Invite the children to show each other one choice at the end. Avoid comparing who stayed inside the lines or finished more. Different animal pictures, different ages, and different moods can produce different results.

Choose a page for your next session

You can use your child’s own drawing or a coloring book you already own. For a baby-animal theme, explore the actual inside-page previews of our Baby Animals paperback. The English edition is designed for ages 4–8 and combines 40 baby animals with short animal facts. Choose supplies and supervision to suit your child.
